We are pleased to announce the release of the book “The Art of Pharmacoeconomics: A guide to getting started” by Dr. Rola Kaakeh, CEO of Salus Vitae Group.
Healthcare resources are scarce. How much are you willing to pay to save a life or extend life for a year? What should policymakers and society be willing to pay for an additional or incremental unit of health gain? If you make any decisions in healthcare, then this book is for you. Anyone who ultimately has the power to make any decision in healthcare needs to equip themselves with the skills to conduct or, at the very least, evaluate outcomes research – of which pharmacoeconomics is a type.

Speaks to the Art
The Art of Pharmacoeconomics is the first of its kind book that takes a macro-level approach to the methodology, skills, and personnel needed to perform and evaluate pharmacoeconomics research. This book speaks to the art, and not just the technical features, of the discipline.
The objective of the book is that you see the world of healthcare decision-making a little differently. It serves as an easy-to-read guide to the key elements that go into the process of conducting and evaluating pharmacoeconomics analyses and provides the reader with the framework and tools needed (including a pharmacoeconomics canvas). |
Pharmacoeconomics is used to inform resource allocation decisions and define effective pharmaceutical policies.
Goals of the Book
FUNDAMENTAL UNDERSTANDING
Provide an essential beginner’s fundamental understanding of the principles to articulate, work on, evaluate studies, and use these tools and information in practice and decision-making when needed. |
IMPROVE ABILITIES
Improve abilities to understand, interpret, and critically evaluate pharmacoeconomic literature, which will assist in translating the results of the analyses into practice and determine its relevance in healthcare decision-making. |
Dr. Rola Kaakeh, author of “The Art of Pharmacoeconomics,” joined a diverse audience for three webinars to discuss her new book, why you should read it, and how to benefit from the concepts covered to improve healthcare decision-making. The webinars are similar in format, however, vary in the audience questions and conversation.
